The
Post Office was the first civic building constructed in Fairview
Village. It was completed in 1997 and acts as an anchor for
the retail street. Residents can easily walk or drive to the
Post Office from anywhere in the Village. The
Post Office also attracts 800-1000 visitors each day because
of its availability of post office boxes. This daily ritual
entices customers who patronize our "mainstreet" merchants.

One
of the "great accomplishments" of the Village is the
successful integration of a large retail anchor into the "walkable
community" design. Not only did the Village gain a great
"corporate citizen" in their new TARGET Store, but
the store and parking design are complementary to the goals
of the Village. (back
